Juliet is the Sun

Just as Peter and Jan each are given parts as palace guards, Marcia is given the lead female role of Juliet Capulet in their school's production of "Romeo and Juliet" opposite Harold Axelrod's lead male role of Romeo Montague. Marcia doubts she's suitable for the lead female role as she tried out for the part of the nurse. After all the Bradys encourage Marcia, her ego grows wild and unmanageable. She becomes so self centered towards others that she is eventually dismissed from the play and is replaced by her understudy Tina. Marcia is reduced to tears, but then offers to take a smaller part as Juliet's mother Lady Capulet when Carol finds out from Miss Goodwin the student actress for that part comes down with the mumps.

The Bradys are hired by a hip director, Skip Farnum, to star in a new television commercial for a laundry detergent, a competitor to the brand that's currently in their laundry room. After a comparison test, the new detergent is found to be superior and the family agrees to star in the commercial. However, the family has been taking advice from acting teacher Myrna Carter, and the end result has their style being forced. Skip is appalled at what he sees and fires the Bradys. On his way out of the house, Skip remarks on how the Bradys' acting methods remind him of an actress they worked with who "was terrible": Myrna Carter. As compensation for a commercial that never was, Carol and Alice end up receiving a delivery of 2,000 boxes of laundry detergent.

The Private Ear

Using his father's tape recorder, Peter eavesdrops on his siblings' conversations. After Mike counsels Peter on his behavior and considers the matter settled, Greg and Marcia decide to take matters into their own hands to get revenge, and mention a surprise party for Peter to overhear. However, Mike and Carol throw a monkey wrench into the kids' revenge plans and throw an actual surprise party for Peter.

Her Sister's Shadow

Air date: 11/19/71

After Jan dumps Marcia's awards in the closet, she frets when her teachers constantly compare her to her oldest sister. Jan finally breaks her streak when she wins an Honor award for an essay she wrote until Jan realizes what is really important when she tells her teacher after tallying up the scores and realizing that she actually didn't finish with the highest mark on the essay.

Greg becomes a new member of the Westdale High School football team. Mike supports the idea, but Carol is fearful that Greg will get hurt. Carol's fears prove true when Greg becomes injured in a scrimmage. Instead, Greg turns to photography, and realizes his importance when he snaps a photo of a bad call on the field.

Getting Davy Jones

Air date: 12/10/71

Marcia, president of her school's Davy Jones fan club, hastily promises she can get the former Monkee to sing at her school's upcoming dance, due to Jones writing her a letter saying he would promise to do her a favor. Her boast results in her having to scramble to get the singer to actually agree to appear. After a few unsuccessful attempts at the local TV station and at his hotel, Marcia's appeal to Davy's manager convinces Davy to make an appearance, when Davy realizes he cannot go back on his word.
