Two children discover that their local library is haunted by the ghost of a stereotypical old librarian who steals the voices of all loud children to teach them that silence is golden - by means of a spooky-looking noise collection box that sucks in a voice or other sound instantly; her recent young victims are trapped in a reading room of the library and have been recently identified by the police as missing during preliminary investigation. The librarian is eventually defeated and turned to ashes when the two children discover that her collection box can be overloaded, allowing all the captured sounds and voices to escape, and the local library is later turned into a memorial after the children are returned to their families and the case is solved.
